Erene Dellaporta is a Visual Artist, Educator & Illustrator born in London, currently based in Southend on Sea. She graduated with a BA (Hons) Fine Art at Central St Martins, University of the Arts London in 2008 and completed a Masters in Arts Education at UCL 2017. She has exhibited in the UK and Europe. Other upcoming shows include a Solo show at The People’s Gallery, The Forum, Southend, April 2023.
Erene Dellaporta has a multidisciplinary practice that explores societal expectations around women, the body, birth, motherhood and the post-partum journey. Since becoming a mother she has been creating work collaboratively with her daughter; being informed by the stages of mother and child relationships they are going through, such as: infant feeding, the weight of childcare, the need for community and engaging with childhood development; play, learning and creativity.
How to… (2022-2023) Is an amalgamation of ponderings on the rebirth & identity of the mother. Exploring the postpartum journey, infant feeding and the weight of childcare. Areas of collaborative creations with my daughter.
