About the TOMA course
The Other MA (TOMA) is an 18-month artist-run education model based in Southend-on-Sea supporting artists who have faced barriers accessing art education and the ‘art world’. TOMA was set up in 2016 to offer responsive, affordable, accessible art education to artists. It is currently the only postgraduate level art programme in Essex after all others were stopped by their host Universities. TOMA is unaccredited in the traditional sense, but provides a programme of learning that will benefit artists in the same way. We are looking for a new cohort of 12 artists to join TOMA for 2022.

About Paige Ockendon
Paige Ockendon likes to celebrate shared experiences within her work, both as an artist and as a producer based in Southend-on-Sea, Essex. Her own playful practice merges administration, internet humour and all things naff with video, performance, and installation. Her work aims to connect people, be it through laughter, common ground, collective cringing, or a shared surprise. Ockendon is also a recent graduate of the TOMA 2019-21 cohort.
