Postcards from the edge (2023) 150 x100 cm Spray paint on canvas
Postcards from the edge is a visual interpretation of her dream artist residency in Greece. The Aegean holds her in amniotic bliss, while bestowing the freedom and adventure she craves.
Fern Worsley is a multi-disciplinary artist born in Scarborough, North Yorkshire, spent her formative years in London, now based in Southend on Sea. She graduated with a BA (Hons) Fine Art at University Centre South Essex College in 2021, and has exhibited at Twenty One Southend, The New City Gallery, Create98 and Folded Space. Fern is Director of theblokhousestudio CIC, an artist-run studio and project space in Southend on Sea.
Her photographs inform her paintings, which often lead to sculpture, video and performance within installation, with themes around sexuality and mortality and their relationship to nature. Recycling and reusing existing art, objects, and ideas to make new art, plays an important part in her practice.
