Gülşen is a researcher and artist working at the intersection of data, imaginaries and power. She holds a BA in Social Work and an MSc in Communication Studies.
Through her creative practice, Gülşen explores the interplay between data, techno-determinism, and myths of creation. Her work addresses socio-political contexts of data-driven technologies and their interplay with identity and power. Gülşen is currently experimenting with sculpture, collage, and stitchwork using her body as a source.
Holding (2023) is a sculpture featuring a plaster hand exploring self as a captured, distorted and incomplete concept.
Stitched (2023) is an interpretative collage inspired by a surveillance camera on Southend High Street.
